L.C. Transportation Service, Inc. was organized and incorporated in Winston-Salem, NC on November 1, 1985. Since that date, the company has experienced a steady and controlled growth. We are a contract carrier with 48 state authority.
L.C. Transportation has an excellent customer base which consists of many major accounts, with FedEx being the largest. We are one of 10 Core Carriers selected by FedEx, and we have the distinct honor of being the number one Core Carrier. In fact, L.C. Transportation has been awarded the Core Carrier of the Year award five (5) times and was the first carrier to be inducted into the FedEx Core Carrier Hall of Fame. Due to the time sensitive nature of this business, all of our trucks are equipped with QualComm onboard computers and can be tracked 24 hours a day with pinpoint accuracy. Dispatch is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days a year.
L.C. Transportation is located at 1685 Reeves Mill Road in Mt. Airy, NC. Our present location houses corporate offices, dispatch, and maintenance. There is a satellite terminal in Denver, Colorado. The fleet currently consists of 113 tractors and 170 trailers. The trailers are a combination of van and reefer units with all of them being 53 foot and the majority being air ride. We also have the largest fleet of roller equipment in North Carolina; almost all the vans can be quickly converted to haul either floor loads or roller freight.
Because of our strict screening program, we feel that we have some of the best drivers the industry has to offer. All potential applicants are thoroughly interviewed and drug tested; past job performances are carefully considered before they are hired. All drivers are required to have HazMat Endorsements on the CDL also.
